Dear Adventure Avenue,
In February, my grandpa, mom, and I visited our family in Arizona for the weekend. While there, we checked out the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase, but first: Breakfast!
Arizona Family Restaurant
It was a nice diner style restaurant to enjoy breakfast. I had an omelet!
Gem Show
There was one really big tent that had the most interesting things in it for me. It was also a really cold day, so the big tent provided shelter from the cold wind.
I think this booth was the one where my mom and I both bought rings.
I almost bought this dragonfly in amber because of the Outlander book, Dragonfly in Amber. There is something beautiful about the significance of amber’s ability to capture the beauty of nature.
Lunch
After the gem show we grabbed BBQ at Rudy’s Country Store. You buy the meat by the pound. They have really good coleslaw there too.
Stay tuned for part two of my Arizona weekend adventure where we visit the Tucson Desert Museum!
Until tomorrow,
A
