Places to Eat in Jacksonville, Florida that aren’t Waffle House

Dear Adventure Avenue,

I’ve compiled a list of places to eat or get catered/delivered food from in Jacksonville, Florida that are not Waffle House. There is a Waffle House on every corner, so it could always be an option as I hear it never closes; however, I have yet to go to one. This list comes from my most recent Jacksonville trip, where I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Orange Park.

Dine-In Options

  1. The first night in the Jacksonville area, we drove to a Thai/Sushi restaurant called Siam Sushi & Thai: Thai Cuisine Sushi Bar. This restaurant is in Middleburg, Florida.
  • The California Rolls were so fresh and they had a nice cucumber crunch.
  • The Pad Thai was also very good. We also tried a beef noodle that was good too – not pictured.

Catering Options

  1. We got Panera catering one day, which for this Southern California girl was nothing new; however, I tried the Lemon Scone for the first time and LOVED it!

2. Metro Diner – Get the biscuit sandwiches, they do not disappoint!

  • These biscuit sandwiches from Metro Diner were the best biscuits I’d had in a while!

3. Maple Street Biscuit Co – Get the Iced Cinnamon biscuits! They’re like a cinnamon roll but in biscuit form!

4. Charley’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches – This is another place that’s a chain that I’ve had elsewhere.
