Dear Adventure Avenues,
This year, I went to Star Wars Nite at Disneyland. As a big Star Wars fan, this was a fun night! I went with a friend who is also a big Star Wars fan and happens to work at Disney so had some good tips for the evening!
Took my kindle since I wouldn’t be meeting up my friend til the event started at 8pm. It was great for being able to read in line! Love my Star Wars case!
I changed into my costume closer to the event. Costumes aren’t required, but I think they definitely add to the experience! It was so cool to see everyone’s creative costumes.
Star Wars Nite Tip: Mobile order your Star Wars Nite food first thing in the morning, for the 8pm time. The shows don’t start til 9pm, so by ordering your food for the 8pm slot, you can eat your special-event food and not miss out on it selling out or missing shows.
I picked up a Starbucks on Main Street to enjoy before the main festivities started. I hadn’t had Starbucks from there, and that was weirdly on my Magic Key Passholder bucket list.
The first show we went to see was with Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
After the Vader/Maul show, we saw the beginning of the Palpatine coming out. We stopped by later to see him more closely.
While we waited for certain shows and appearances, I took that opportunity to do some of the photo ops. I did the Emperor’s throne and Bo Katan’s throne.
We saw the First Order March with Captain Phasma. We had a great spot close to Star Tours and were able to see the show really well.
Before going to the lightsaber meetup, I needed to grab my special Magic Key Pass Holder gift. This pickup was held at Mickey’s House in Toon Town, so it was quite a walk to get there. I got the special Star Wars Nite patch, pictured at the end of this post.
After the light saber meetup, I went as fast as I could to this cool photo op that looks like it belongs in a rebel base. There was one couple in line in front of me, so I got to take the pictures very quickly.
Then I went back to Galaxy’s Edge where I saw Hera and Chopper strolling about. Chopper behaved himself and didn’t add any war crimes to his count (if you know, you know).
We then waited by the speeders to see if C3PO would come out at 11:30pm. We were there a while, so we had a spot close to the front and got a great view of him.
We also stopped to see the Cantina Band playing on the Rivers of America. I loved seeing the park all lit up so late in the night.
After seeing Queen Amidala, we waited to see Anakin – along with a few other people. There was no set time he was supposed to be out, but we were hoping he’d be out at midnight. Lucky for us, our waiting paid off!
We stopped by to see R5 and a Jawa afterwards, but the line was too long to get the picture with them.
Overall, it was a really fun night. We stayed in the park til it closed at 2am. I took the bus back to the Toy Story parking lot. There was no wait for the bus!
Until next time,
A
