Sophisticated Sushi Making Experience – Life Plus LA

Dear Adventure Avenue,

I recently took part in a sophisticated sushi making experience at Life Plus LA! This class was located at the Sherman Oaks Galleria.

This multi-course experience taught the basics of sushi making and everything we made and ate was delicious!

We started the night with nigiri and sashimi that included tuna (really good tuna I was told – it sure tasted delicious), butterflied shrimp, and salmon.

Then the actual making began! We made a temaki with salmon, rice, avocado, and cucumber.

When we got the little mats out, I knew we were in for a treat: Making some actual sushi rolls!

I loved learning how to make sushi using the little mat. I think I need to get myself this sushi making kit on Amazon! (affiliate link)

I put a little too much rice in my uramaki which made it harder to roll and cut.

Here are all the sushi’s of the ladies in my group! Some of them were super talented and did such a good job making and cutting them! We also got little bowls to put the leftover meats and toppings in to enjoy alongside our sushi.

I enjoyed a Synergy Kombucha that I’d brought with me. It was BYOD (Bring your own drinks). One of my friends has the Gingerade Kombucha (affiliate link) which I think was so smart and on theme!

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone in the greater LA area looking to learn how to make sushi!

Until next time,

A
