Dear Adventure Avenue,
Another day of sleeping in. I slept in til 9:15. The time change is rough on me – especially with the 24 hours of travel and basically no sleep during that time.
Our plan was to have crepes from the place we had had them yesterday but it wasn’t open today, so instead we had to have the buffet in the hotel which closes at 10:15. They were nice enough to let us stay and enjoy our meal, but we eventually got kicked out so they could get the place ready for lunch.
They were using the coolest iron on the table clothes. It had a water tank attached to it and seemed to work so well.
After breakfast, we went back to the room before I went out to explore the city.
I walked almost all the way around the whole city, starting at the opposite end where our tour guide had said goodbye to us. (She’d been the one to point out the path that could be taken).
I walked in between the two walls pretty much until I got to where our hotel was and then I took the wrong fork and ended up outside the city on a gravel road. Once I saw the cathedral, I headed back in through a little roadway that we had actually come to the hotel on.
At this point, the wind had stopped blowing so I was pretty hot in my black puffer, so I went back to switch out my jacket before finishing my walk.
Once back, mere and I decided that I’d pick up sandwiches on the way back for us to have for breakfast tomorrow. The second part of my walk wasn’t as breathtaking as the first because it was mostly in construction so I couldn’t/didn’t want to traverse through a construction zone. This meant I ended up at a sandwich/ice cream shop/crêperie that I’d seen earlier. Here I bought our sandwiches, a beurre sucre crêpe for my lunch, and a giant water.
Then I came back to the hotel and got a very relaxing massage with a facial. Before dinner, we got drinks in the hotel. I had a virgin mojito!
For dinner, we went to Le St. Jean. I had (red) pesto pasta and Mere had mussels and lamb.
Then we went back to the hotel and got ready for bed.
Until tomorrow,
A
