Dear Adventure Avenue,
I’m in the British airways lounge, en route to Nice, sipping my English Breakfast tea, and I notice that there is a fairly popular Shower Reception. It appears to be some sort of system where they (the workers) set up a shower for you and then you’re able to go shower.
They also have toothbrushes as I saw someone snag one from the desk. It is so popular that there is a wait right now. I’ve seen several people hand over buzzers like at busy restaurants– except instead of getting a table, they’re getting a shower.
My question is what drives people to take showers at the airport? Is this a European thing? There are showers in the American lounge at LAX, but I’ve never seen anyone go into them.
Sincerely,
A from Heathrow Airport
