Disney World 2020
Dear Adventure Avenue,
Disney’s Riviera Resort is AMAZING and, well, I am going to tell you why I loved it so much!
Location
The French Riviera is located conveniently between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While you can’t easily walk to either of those parks, the Disney Skyliner helps you get to those parks in a short, relaxing ride.
The Skyliner is also nice because it’s continuous transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and you never have to wait long for it.
The Resort is also located on a lake that you can walk around when you’re not at the parks (or if you’re like me- you walk by it on your way to and from the Skyliner).
The Room: Deluxe Studio
Our room was a Deluxe Studio which was perfect for our four person family.
There were three beds. Two of which went back up into the wall or turned into a sofa.
The bathroom was great because there were two showers. For a family that has a couple people who take super long showers, it proved to be a timesaver which in Disney is super important. (I love to be able to get out as quick as possible to maximize my magical experience in the different parks.)
There was also a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, some silverware and dishes, and a big sink. It was perfect to store some leftovers and make a quick and easy breakfast in the morning.
Hotel Theming
One of the main reasons why I loved this hotel was because of it’s theming. As someone who loves France and has been to the French Riviera, I felt like I really was back in the Riviera.
Around the hotel there were movie posters from European countries. My personal favorites were the French ones.
I also loved the artwork around the hotel. Especially this Tangled piece that stretched from one side of the tunnel to the other. (I tried my best to align it in here)
There was also Disney songs being played in French which I loved!
I was so excited when I was walking out to the skyliner and I heard my favorite Disney French song, “Je m’en vais”.
Amenities
The hotel has a gym, if you need a gym after doing a whole lot of walking throughout the Disney Parks. I didn’t use it because I like to spend my days in the parks.
There is also a couple of pools. There is a slide that comes out of a tower. The pool looked pretty cool, but either the weather wasn’t with us or we were super busy, so we didn’t get a chance to check it out.
Then there are the buses that run to all the parks. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom were the only parks we took the bus to, and we always were able to catch the bus fairly quickly.
We talked to some cast members and they said that if the Skyliner is down, they increase the amount of buses they send to Disney’s Hollywood Studio and EPCOT. Luckily for us, we were always able to take the Skyliner to those two parks.
Customer Experience
In addition to the aesthetic and amenities of the resort, the staff was very kind and eager to help. They all wanted to make sure we were having a magical time.
Since it is still a new resort, they are still ironing out some kinks. For instance, maid service came by multiple times a day even though our room had already been cleaned.
However I have faith that with a little more time (and pixie dust ;)) that this resort will be running better than when I was there.
Signing Off,
A
