El Dorado Regional Park Review – Long Beach, California

Dear Adventure Avenue,

After visiting Cafe The Scoop, we went to El Dorado Regional Park and entered through the park station titled El Dorado East Regional Park.

Entrance on the weekend was $8 per vehicle.

We drove around and stopped at the first pond/lake we saw and started to walk around it, but were surprised by the number of goose and other bird droppings. It made walking without stepping in them quite difficult, so we got back in the car and drove a little farther to where the “Amusement Park” was located.

The “Amusement Park”

We inquired about the cost to enter the Amusement Park (it cost $5 to enter and ride tickets were extra), so we decided to walk around the park instead.

There was a neat little bridge that we crossed to get over the pond.

It was a bit warm in the direct sun, so after walking around the pond, we paced about the shade of some great big pine trees and chatted.

We saw quite a few people having big gatherings in the park, enjoying the community space.

We had a little bit of trouble finding the exit as the exit we did find per our mapping system was closed, so we did do an extra loop around the park to find the correct exit. (I commented there were a significant lack of exit signs).

All in all, it was an enjoyable park experience, perfect to get some exercise. If I were to go again, I would check out the El Dorado West Regional Park because it appeared to have a community garden attached to it – and I LOVE a community garden!

Until next time,

A
