My family went on a trip to Walt Disney World during Thanksgiving break where we stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas. Our room and restaurant reservations were all booked by Hannah Little who is a FABULOUS Disney Vacation Planner. I’ve linked her website here. She’s amazing! We had the best time and were able to do everything we wanted to do and more.

Dear Adventure Avenue,
My mom and I got up early at 6:50 so we could buy the individual lightning lane pass for Rise of the Resistance. The credit card on file was an old card that had expired, so when we got to the spot to pay, we were booted out. It wouldn’t let us add a current card. Luckily, my mom was able to use Apple Pay to purchase them. I recommend updating your credit card the night before, so that you don’t have the same issue. Then we both tried to go back to sleep; however, after the excitement of the morning, I couldn’t sleep. I was ready to go to Disney! My dad was ready to go too, so we went to Hollywood Studios.
It’s such a short and convenient walk from our hotel. The park had just opened when we got there, so we had to wait in line to get into the park, but my mom and brother didn’t have a wait by the time they got there an hour later.
My dad and I went first to Star Tours because there was not a line. In fact, we basically walked on.
Minnie and Mickey’s Runaway Railway
We decided to meet at the queue for Minnie and Mickey’s Runaway Railway since my mom and brother were en route. They joined us in the line and then it started to sprinkle. Half the line is outside and the other half is inside.
The ride itself was okay – definitely not worth the long line and it’s not as good as the movie ride that was there before it. It is a trackless ride and uses screens to immerse you in the ride story.
When we came out of the ride, it was raining.
We went to Walt Disney Presents because it was an indoor attraction, but a lot of people also had the same idea. We had seen it, so we left to check the line for Rock n Roller Coaster.
The individual line for Rock n Roller was very long and they weren’t accepting single riders. It turns out it was a good thing we didn’t wait in line because it broke down not long after.
Lunch
I love the Ronto wraps in Galaxy’s Edge, so my dad and I went there. My mom and brother had a difficult time finding a place to just get chicken tenders and a burger. There isn’t a place in Star Wars land. My dad and I stumbled upon the Backlot which had chicken tenders for my brother and a burger for my mom.
Then my dad and I walked around and took pictures. He likes to take stills to use as backdrops in his movies.
We saw Rey and Chewie! I love Rey’s poncho.
Our lightening lane for Toy Story Mania was ready so we went on that. When we came out of there, the rain had really started coming down hard.
We decided to go on Star Tours which unfortunately queued outside for much of the line. But the music and scenery was beautiful.
Then we went to the 3D Muppets Movie which was cute and a great way to avoid the rain.
Mickey and Minnie Vacation Short which was cute and a great way to avoid the rain. There weren’t that many people in the theater which was surprising as Muppets was packed.
Then we were cold and had a big, long gap until our next lightening lane. Everything was a super long wait, so we decided to choose rest and get some hot chocolate (well tea for me) at the Commissary which is in between Star Tours and the Runaway Railway ride.
Then we went to the Star Wars exhibit where you can look at props and meet the characters. We met Chewbacca and I got a hug from the Wookie.
Then we walked around some shops to kill time and not get wet from the rain before dinner.
Hollywood Brown Derby
Our waiter was a little snooty and inattentive but the food was good. The bread and butter with Hawaiian salt was delicious! I had the chicken noodle soup off the kids menu which was delish. Then my mom and I split the Chop Salad and the shrimp Macaroni and cheese. My dad got the pork and my brother got a steak.
Then it was time for the highlight of the day: Rise of the Resistance. It’s as if everytime that ride gets better. We notice new things and become more immersed in the world. We even had the whole car to ourselves!
Epcot
Then we took the skyliner over to Epcot to avoid the rain and to rest our tired feet. On the first skyliner, there was this chatty little boy from England who was adorable. I was happy to chat with him as I’m a bit afraid of heights and he was a delightful distraction.
France
We went to the boulangerie where I ordered our sandwiches for breakfast in French.
England
Then my mom and I went to look at the shops and I saw some teacups and teapots that looked right up my alley!
My mom and I stopped to buy two of the resort souvenir cups that can be filled at any resort for free. Each cup will pay for itself after 4 uses.
Then we headed back to the room and went to sleep.
Until Tomorrow,
A
