Luyu Dumplings – City of Industry, California

Dear Adventure Avenue,

I heard about this dumpling place from some people at work and I knew I needed to try it. They said it would be just like Din Tai Fung but not as expensive.

A friend and I went together and got a couple dumplings off the menu as well as the scallion pancakes.

We got a beef dumpling and a pork dumpling. There are quite a few pork dumplings to choose from. We got the pork and leek one and it was really good. I thought the beef and radish dumpling was a little bit too much like a meatball in a dumpling for me to enjoy, but my friend really liked that one.

The scallion pancakes were kind of like quesadillas, but they were quite delicious. The table also came with free cucumbers that were very salty but did have some garlic on top.

The restaurant was very small and I would describe it as a hole in the wall, but it was definitely worth it. I felt like the dumplings were the same as Din Tai Fung, just without the presentation of the basket that you would get there.

If I was craving dumplings, I would definitely go there again.

Until next time,

A
