Day 5

Dear Adventure Avenue,
This morning we went to the buffet at Auntie’s Kitchen. We traded our maid service for a free buffet. I had pancakes, sausage, and fruit. I tried dragon fruit for the first time, and I have to say it was not my favorite. It didn’t have as much flavor as I thought it would.
I also tried açai sorbet. It was weird at first but it grew on me. It was very refreshing for the hot and humid morning.
For lunch we drove to Lahaina and ate at the Cool Cat Cafe. I had a delicious chicken sandwich with pineapple, bacon, and a mango sauce.
We walked through the Banyan trees and went to Lappert’s ice cream. I had coconut ice cream which had actual coconut shreds in it. I also tried my brother’s cookie dough ice cream which was good as well.
We made a detour to check out a coconut farm, but it was closed. We called to see if we could set up a tour, but they were all booked. Then we stopped at Safeway on our way back to the hotel to pick up steaks to barbecue for dinner.
After dinner we went down to the beach and enjoyed the sunset.
