Day 7
July 16, 2019
Dear Adventure Avenue,
After our morning breakfast bagels, we headed to see the Twin Falls.
The drive took over an hour, but thankfully the trail was open (unlike the last time we visited).
There were many warnings at the entrance, but we proceeded on. The trail was not very treacherous.
The hardest part was closer to the waterfalls. There was a somewhat steep stair drop and the rocks on the way to the waterfall were very slippery.
I wish I had brought a swimsuit and water shoes because the rocks hurt my feet and I could only go knee deep into the water.
After the waterfall we stopped at Flatbread Company where we had the best lunch. We started with a locally sourced salad with goat cheese. It was so fresh!
My mom and I split the Pai’ia Bay Ohana which had onions and mushrooms topped with garlic oil.
My dad got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and my brother got cheese. Even the cheese pizza was so good. We had no leftovers– it was that good.
After lunch we went to my favorite used bookstore on Maui: Maui Friends of the Library Bookstore. More on this place later!
Then we went back to the hotel. My mom went out to Safeway and got some hotdogs to barbecue for dinner.
We leave tomorrow morning around 10 am for the airport.
Until next time,
