Dear Adventure Avenue,
This weekend, my mom, cousins, and I went to Lip Lab located at the Irvine Spectrum in California. We were able to make our choices of lipstick, lip balm (a cross between a lipstick and a chapstick), or a lip gloss. I decided to make a lipstick and a lip balm.
The first step of the process was to choose which combination you wanted to do. Here were the options:
After picking the combination, we received a lip scrub that we applied. Then we picked out the scent for our lip products. I went with vanilla, but you could also pick mint, dark chocolate espresso, rose, mango, and a couple more.
We then picked out what color we wanted, and they mixed it up using these sheets. I wanted a cross between a red and a pink. I did two iterations of my lipstick. The first one I did was more neutral than I was expecting, so I asked for one that was more pink.
After seeing the second one on though, I decided to go with the more neutral one and asked if I could do the second one in the balm. In the balm, the pinker one was perfect!
After we decided on our lip shades, we got to pick our lipstick tubes. I picked Pink Satin!
As we were picking our lipstick containers (and coming up with names for our lip products), our lip products started getting mixed up and made!
After our lip products were mixed up and melted (in a microwave), they were poured into their containers (lip balms and glosses) or were poured into a mold (the lipstick). I, unfortunately, didn’t get a picture of the lipstick mold, but it was really cool looking. (It was kind of like this.)
While the lip products settled and hardened, we watched our caps get engraved.
Now it’s time to enjoy my new lip products!
Until next time,
A
