Dear Adventure Avenue,
Today we got up around eight in the morning but didn’t go to brunch at the Bistro until a little later.
I quite enjoyed my brunch. I had eggs, toast with apricot jam (that was from France!!!), potatoes that were cooked perfectly, and some of Mere’s delicious grilled cheese sandwich. My mom got lobster benedict. My brother got pancakes and my dad got an egg white omelet.
Then my brother and I walked back to the room quickly to change into cooler clothes and tennis shoes. I was in boots and a sweater and it turned out it was a lot hotter than I thought. We were going on a hike at 11, so I wanted to be properly dressed.
The Hike
Our tour guide was super sweet! She was very knowledgeable about the plants and general environment of the area. Here are some pictures I snapped on the hike:
My brother and I stayed in the room while our parents and Mere went to a winery.
Well that is until I grew tired of reading and watching old office reruns. (Fun Fact: turns out I’ve seen the Office so many times, I can quote every episode). (Oh and Funner Fact: In high school I did Pam Beasley’s monologue from Beach Games). But I digress…
I convinced my brother to go down to the beach with me. Although apparently he’s channeling his inner Anakin Skywalker and believes the sand is “coarse, rough, and gets anywhere”. Okay… Perhaps he didn’t really say that. 😉
We got some good pictures I think! Although, the water was a little cold!
We went back to the room again to watch TV again and I decided to get some writing done.
When my parents and Mere came back, we went down to dinner at the Bistro again. I got a delicious lobster quesadilla! The tortilla was so thick and fresh and it was bursting with lobster!
Mere got a salad (with grapes of all things in it!) and my mom got shrimp scampi. My dad had a filet and my brother chicken tenders (shocking I know ;)).
After dinner, we took a shuttle car up to our room. It was a wonderful end to our mini-vacation.
Until tomorrow,
A
