Ted’s Montana Grill in Jacksonville, Florida

Dear Adventure Avenue,

On my last night in Jacksonville, Florida, we went to Ted’s Montana Grill. Throughout the dinner, I looked around to get a feel for the usual cliental to see who usually eats here. I think we may have stumbled upon a local’s place!

We had the best service! At the end of our meal, our server, Vinny thanked us for coming in and asked where we were from since they don’t see a lot of people from out of town. He definitely had a love for his city, citing that, “Jacksonville is such a great place to live because it’s about 6 hours from the Keys, Atlanta, and Charlotte.”

Vinny was honest in all his recommendations. If we asked what he thought of something, he knew exactly what to recommend. The reason we know he was so good was that someone in our party really wanted the mac n cheese and asked how it was. He said that it was pretty bland, and that she would probably like something else. She still ordered it anyway just to try it and he was right, bland and boring.

The food overall was good, though don’t expect a Ruth Chris or Morton’s style steakhouse. This is very much a Grill. We started out with some shrimp on some yummy garlic bread.

One cool thing about this restaurant is they sell bison! I ordered the Bison New York strip with broccoli and green beans. The green beans were delicious!!

I quite enjoyed my bison and I had enough leftover meat to eat it the next morning for breakfast before my flight. I ate it cold, even though I had a microwave because I didn’t want to ruin the perfect medium rare cook on it.

Until next time,

A
