Day 4
June 25, 2019
Dear Adventure Avenue,
Today was our last day in our hotel, le Meridien. We got up around 8 and enjoyed our buffet breakfast. Then we went back to our room and packed up all our stuff.
We left our bags downstairs and went to a chocolate store called Jeff de Bruges. The guy working there was very nice and helped my Grand-mère pick out a bunch of chocolate.
Then we went to the Negresco, which is one of the oldest hotels in Nice. It has a very grand exterior with a big domed roof. When we were about to go inside we noticed a sign that informed us that if we wanted to go inside and look around we would need to buy a drink. With that information in mind, we went into the bar which has wood panels, big paintings, and a tapestry decorating its walls. I order a nonalcoholic mango mojito. It was very refreshing. I love my nonalcoholic mojitos!
After having our beverages, walked around the downstairs of the hotel. It was amazing. There was a beautiful domed ceiling, little cherubs littered the room, along with large paintings of royalty.
Then we walked back to our hotel, got our bags, and taxied over to Villefranche. Our new hotel, the Welcome Hotel, is right on the water, although not the beach, but it has a lovely view.
We ate lunch at Abacaxi. I had the Italienne crêpe which was really good. Then we walked to the beach and cooled off in the water. It was so hot that after the beach we went back to Abacaxi and got ice cream. I got coconut ice cream. There’s just something so good about French ice cream.
After resting in the hotel room for a bit we went down for drinks in the hotel. I had a watermelon drink that was a little too sweet for my liking. Then we went out to dinner at La Mere Germaine. I had lobster which was so good.
Until Tomorrow,
A from Villefranche
