Day 6
June 27, 2019
Dear Adventure Avenue,
My mom and I walked down the street to a little cafe to have breakfast, but it seemed kind of like a bar, so we headed back to the hotel to have the buffet breakfast there.
Then we took a cab to the Villefranche train station. We were told we could walk; however, upon further investigation, we noticed a lot of stairs in edition to walking– hence the cab. We had a lot of luggage and thankfully there were two girls working there that helped us take them to where we needed to be.
We arrived in Nice and waited for the TGV train. It was hot outside, but at least on the train there was AC.
We took the train to Toulon where we then waited in the sun for a cab. One finally came and the driver drove us to our hotel in La Seyne Sur Mer. As we drove up to the Hilton Grand Hotel, I didn’t think it was our hotel because it was so much bigger than I expected.
We ate lunch at the hotel’s restaurant, La Galerie. I had ravioli which had freshly grated pieces of Parmesan cheese on top. It was delicious!
Then we went to the front desk to see if our room was ready and it was. Then the manager comes to us with an elevator key and says that we have our “own private lift” and takes us upstairs. For now all I’m going to say is that it was AMAZING! I’ll do a room tour later.
We then went downstairs to the pools. The outside one was a perfect temperature to cool off in, but also not be too cold. The inside pool had two little waterfall features that I enjoyed walking under and through. The hot tub was a little too hot for the outside conditions.
After relaxing in the room a bit we went out to eat at le Navigateur. We had fried fish. I enjoyed the calamari, but the fish sticks were a little bland in my opinion.
We walked back to our room and I decided I would go into the hot tub on our balcony. It was so hot inside and outside that I didn’t last more than five minutes.
Until tomorrow,
A from La Seyne Sur Mer
