Disney World 2020 Day 5

Day 5 January 11, 2020

Dear Adventure Avenue,

The day began with my parents and I going to the bakery in Epcot’s France to get ham and cheese croissants for breakfast.

After that we took the bus over to Animal Kingdom with my brother and Papa. We were very lucky both ways and the bus came almost instantly.

It misted a little on us on our walk in but cleared up pretty fast.

We had some free time before our fastpass for the new Avatar ride, Ride of Passage, so we went on the safari. We saw lots of animals.

The giraffes were really close to the truck
Elephant
Some Lions

After the safari we went over to Pandora where Avatar is and went on the new ride.

I was a little nervous about going on because I don’t like heights but I loved it. My mom didn’t go on it because she gets motion sick and it is definitely not a good choice if you get motion sick easily. That said, it’s a great ride. I felt so safe and carefree on my little creature. It was amazing.

After that, the heat of the day plus hunger was getting to me so my mom and I went to RainForest Cafe while my brother, dad, and uncle did Everest. I do not like that ride because it goes backwards.

My brother and dad joined us for lunch there after their ride. I had a turkey wrap which was good.

After lunch, the four of us took the train and went to Rafiki’s Conservation Station.

I was really excited when we got there when I saw there were animation classes. My mom and I enjoyed it. My dad looked at the animals outside. We drew Scar from the Lion King. Our instructor was really funny and a good demonstrator.

Waiting for animation class to start

Then we went and joined my dad looking at the animals. An alpaca tried to hump the black pig. There was a really nice goat named Leia. And I got to pet a sheep so I was happy.

The pig shown here was the mean one

After that we boarded the train, although there was some problem that we never did figure out where it took forever to let us load onto the train, but just our side.

When we got back, we met the rest of our family and went on the safari ride again and saw some more animals.

As we were walking towards the buses we tried to see some otters but they weren’t out. 🙁

We rested in the room for a bit and I ate a strawberry cream tart. It was sooo good.

Then my mom and I went over to Epcot. We talked to the people in our pod because they were all super friendly.

I waited in the single rider line for Test Track for a long time. I’d say a little over 30 minutes which was disappointing.

We had dinner reservations at Le Cellier in the Canada portion of Epcot. I had the Vancouver to drink which was Sprite with peach purée. I’d say there was not enough peach in it.

For dinner I had the Filet Mignon which was delicious. For dessert I had the Boom Kaboom Chocolate Nanaimo. It was a small chocolate brownie with coconut “brownie” on and top covered in chocolate. It was not what I expected but pretty good.

All was going well until we left the restaurant and realized our mistake. The skyliner stopped running at 10 and it was 10:15. So we walked over to the Beach Club Villas and ordered a Lyft.

All closed 🙁
Time to walk to the Beach Club

Our Lyft finally came and we ended up back at our hotel around 10:45. The lesson we learned is that if we go out late to a restaurant when staying at the Riviera, we need to make sure we get out of there before the skyliner closes.

Until Tomorrow,

A
