DIY Felt Mickey Mouse Ears

Dear Adventure Avenue,

Earlier this week I posted a tutorial on how to make your own fabric bows. I hinted that there was another project that I’d been working on. Well! This is it! I’ve been making Mickey Mouse ears!

As you may know, I am a big fan of Disney, and an even bigger Star Wars fan. This craft project tied two things I love into one.

DIY Felt Ahsoka Mickey Ears

I will be showing a tutorial of my DIY Ahsoka Mickey ears (because I love Ahsoka!), but know you could do any character you want!

Materials

How to Make DIY Felt Mickey Ears

1 Trace the outline of your Mickey ears on the felt so that your felt circles are slightly bigger than the actual ear. You will need 4 of these circles, 2 for each ear.

Trace your Mickey Ears!
You will need four of these.

2. Paint the Mickey ears the color of your base felt. So for Ahsoka, I chose a base of white. (optional if your felt is a dark color)

3. While your ears are drying (if you painted them), cut out the 4 felt circles.

4. If the character you chose has other characteristics that you want to include, go ahead and cut those out now. For my Ahsoka ears, I cut out little blue felt triangles.

5. Add any characteristics you want to add to your felt circles. . I added the blue triangles for my Ahsoka ears.

I recommend using a cheap placemat like mine while you are super gluing and painting.

6. After the ears are dried, Super glue your base circles onto your Mickey ears.

7. You should be able to pinch the felt around the ear and it will come together. Add super glue all around the ears and pinch until it is try and sticks together.

This will give them a nice clean finish.

8. Add your bow or bows of choice. I added an orange fabric bow.

9. After all the glue is dried, you can wear your ears!
