Having the Best Paris, France Vacation: Spring 2022 Day 1

At the end of March, I went on a trip to Paris, France and documented how I had the best French vacation. Follow along on my day-to-day adventures in Paris!

Dear Adventure Avenue,

It was a long day of traveling. We left Friday morning at 3:45 am California time and two flights later, we arrived in France Saturday morning.

Hôtel du Louvre

After getting checked in, we went next door to the Café de la Comédie. I was still stuffed from all the food on the plane, so I just ordered an Earl Grey tea. My mom got a croque monsieur and my grand mere got a buttered croissant and a tea as well.

Les Puces

Then we journeyed to Les Puces or the Fleas as is the direct translation of the word to see the vintage wares. When we first arrived, it was not at all how I imagined. There were outside booths, people selling an odd assortment of items – anywhere from used sunglasses to used shoes and clothes to new branded items (wouldn’t be surprised if they were fakes).

Then we finally found the entrance to the Dauphine center that we wanted to see. We walked around and checked out all the unique items. Lots of records, old books, and a small amount of vintage clothing. We also saw some vintage furniture. It was cool, but not the nicest part of Paris.

We walked to the metro which was about a 15-minute walk from Les Puces.

When we got back to the hotel two of our three rooms were ready, so we went up to the room to put our stuff in as it had been being stored down below in the lobby.

My mom and I then walked over to Starbucks where we were met with a rude barista who wouldn’t make my grandma’s favorite black iced tea. We ended up ordering a hot English breakfast and a cup of ice.

My grand-mere’s room was ready when we came back from the Starbucks. Her room was awesome! I’ll be doing a room tour of her room soon.

We relaxed in our room as a band played outside our room before we headed out to a café for dinner.

Cafe Saint Honore

We ended at Cafe Saint Honore which was DELICIOUS. I should say mine was the favorite of the table. I had the Agnolotti tartufo, a rich cheese ravioli in a truffle cream sauce. Devine!

My mom had the mozzarella pizza which I really enjoyed. The ingredients utilized tasted very fresh. My grand mere had the special of the day, the lamb, and our friend had the chicken sandwich.

They also had the most delicious virgin mojitos!

Then it was an early to bed sort of night! Unfortunately, we were faced with another time change (another meaning a couple of weeks ago we lost an hour in California). We were in bed by 8pm due to jet lag and so we’d be ready to face a new day.

Sincerely,

A
