My family went on a trip to Walt Disney World during Thanksgiving break where we stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas. Our room and restaurant reservations were all booked by Hannah Little who is a FABULOUS Disney Vacation Planner. I’ve linked her website here. She’s amazing! We had the best time and were able to do everything we wanted to do and more.

Dear Adventure Avenue,
My mom and I got up early again to get our individual lightning lane for Flight of Passage because today was Animal Kingdom! (We paid $17 a ticket, cheaper than Rise of the Resistance which was $22). We also booked the safari ride as well.
We hit the bus jackpot as the bus driver let us on even though she had already started to pull out of the bus stop.
We rode our “free” lightning lane pass which was the Safari Ride and saw so many animals!
After we had scanned our barcode for the safari, we tried to book the Navi River ride but it was too late to do it, so we booked my dad and brother for Expedition Everest. After the safari, we went straight to Flight of Passage where we walked right past the 120+ minute line and walked right on. Money well spent.
Then we decided to wait in the 120 minute line for the river ride but as we neared the front (still about 30 minutes out), the ride shut down!
This turned out to be quite lucky because a bunch of people left and we were even closer to the front. The ride opened up reasonably quickly and we were on the gentle boat ride down the river. I thought they were animatronics but they were just projections. I wouldn’t say it was worth the wait but we’re glad we did go on it at least once.
Lunch
My brother and dad then went to ride Everest while my mom and I went to get us a table at Rainforest Cafe. Luckily she had her Landry’s card, so we got in really quickly despite not having a reservation.
EPCOT
After lunch we headed to EPCOT. Instead of taking a bus back to our hotel, we caught the Riveria’s bus as it was there when we arrived at the bus stop. From the Riviera, we took the Skyliner to Epcot and were able to enter the park at 2pm.
We went and got in line for Ratatouille because everything had super long wait times and we’d never been on this new 3D trackless ride.
The line took forever.
It was room after room of lines even after we finished the outside queue and went inside.
It was a fun little ride where you’re not always sure when you’re moving and when you’re not. I wouldn’t say it was worth the 120+ minutes we waited for it though.
It was time for a snack as my brother was hungry for a pretzel. I wanted to try the jumbo German pretzels located in Germany, so we went there to satisfy my brother’s pretzel hunger.
As we ate our pretzel, we gazed across the water at the Epcot Orb and enjoyed the peace and quiet. At one point a bird came and started begging for some of our pretzel.
After the pretzel, we continued to sit for a spell before getting up and exploring some of the gift shops on the way to Canada.
We realized that since EPCOT had their extra magic hours that night, we could book the virtual queue for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride! We got boarding group 153 and they were up to about 110 by 6pm when the new queues opened.
Canada Le Cellier
I had the pork chop which was very peppery and salty. My mom and brother split the filet. My dad got the rib eye which wasn’t as good as he remembered. I found the food to be very salty, so it wasn’t my favorite meal. The pretzel bread was good though.
After dinner, we redeemed the lightning lane for Soarin’ around the world that I had got when we first got there around 2.
Then we decided to go single rider on Test Track. It was such a short single rider line that we were on the ride in less than 10 minutes! It was great!
While we were on Test Track, my mom got some hot chocolate to drink while we watched the fireworks.
I really enjoyed the Harmonious fireworks show. They played some good music in it. My one complaint was that I wished they’d used Encanto instead of Coco for one of their segments. I really liked the Brave segment and the Princess and the Frog segment.
After the fireworks show, my dad, brother, and I headed to our Guardians of the Galaxy virtual queue. The line has a cool part where it integrates you into the story. For more information on this ride – check out my Know Before You Go: Guardians of the Galaxy Guide.
After that adventure of a ride, we headed back to the room. It was a long, productive day at Disney but alas, our feet were starting to hurt.
Until tomorrow,
A
