Dear Adventure Avenue,
1. GROW A GARDEN
I realized once gardening season started last year that I should have made gardening one of my goals for last year. I love to garden, but with this as a goal, I plan on keeping better track of my gardening adventures. This year in the garden, I plan to:
Plant zucchini in the new plot I started. I’m trying a no dig method to deal with bad soil and weeds.
So far, I am not having much luck with this plot. I don’t think the seedlings can survive long enough to put decent roots in the clay like soil. I am pivoting a little bit by putting some of my Snow White tomato starts in this patch.
Well, I’m officially calling it quits on the zucchini for this year. I’ll try again next year!
Plant the tomato seeds I saved from my favorite tomatoe plants of 2021. Done!
While the Amy’s Apricot’s didn’t grow, the Snow White tomatoes are doing very well! I’m still harvesting cherry tomatoes.
Plant herbs and/or strawberries in my new Vertical planter – affiliate link here.
Next year, I will have to plan more strategically for planting in this vertical planter.
2. DO YOGA 60 TIMES THIS YEAR – THAT’S JUST 5 TIMES A MONTH!
I love yoga, and it’s so good for my physical and mental health.
In January, I practiced yoga 22 times! (How fitting!)
In February, I practiced yoga 8 times!
In March, I practiced yoga 3 times
In April, I practiced yoga 6 times! (I started going to yoga classes at my town’s Community Center)
In May, I practiced yoga 4 times.
In June, I practiced yoga 3 times.
In July, I practiced yoga 2 times.
In August, I practiced 1 time.
In September, I practiced 2 times.
In October, I practiced 3 times.
In total, I practiced yoga 54 times! Over halfway done!
3. READ OR LISTEN TO 22 BOOKS
I like to track the books I read throughout the year. Since I love to read, this is a great 2022 inspired goal.
So far this year I have read:
Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendency: Chaos Rising by Timothy Zahn
Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good by Timothy Zahn
Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil by Timothy Zahn
Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser
The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry
Star Wars: Master and Apprentice
Nothing General About it by Maurice Benard
The Dirty Life by Kristin Kimball
Good Husbandry by Kristin Kimball
Leia: Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray
Star Wars: High Republic: Light of the Jedi. by Charles Soule
It’s Your Universe: You Have the Power to Make it Happen by Ashley Eckstein
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin
This month I finished reading A Hobbit, A Wardrobe, and a Great War by Joseph Lononte. It’s an interesting read if you’ve read The Chronicles of Narnia and/or The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings as it’s about C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. The next book I read was called On Rue Tatin by Susan Herrmann Loomis which was such a great read about life in Northern France. I also finished the audiobook read by Carrie Fisher called Wishful Drinking – which is not a kid-appropriate book but delves into her life with mental illness.
I am still in the process of reading the second Outlander book, Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon, the third book in the High Republic series: The Fallen Star by Claudia Gray. I love Dragonfly in Amber, but I am losing interest in the High Republic series unfortunately.
4. DECLUTTER 1000 ITEMS
After reading Declutter Like a Mother by Allie Casazza last year, I decided to give decluttering a go. I started this goal on December 3 and had already decluttered 179 things.
In January, I decluttered 322 items.
In February, I decluttered 27 items.
In March, I decluttered 18 items.
In April, I decluttered 18 items.
In May, I decluttered 35 items.
In June, I decluttered 15 items.
In July, I decluttered 21 items.
In August, I decluttered 23 items.
In September, I decluttered 39 items.
In October, I decluttered 24 items.
In total, I decluttered 721 items!
I’m just using a piece of graph paper to track mine, but Let’s Live and Learn is where I got the idea to declutter 1000 items. She has a printable that may be helpful – link here.
5. MAKE 100 POSHMARK SALES DONE!
This goal goes along the same lines as goal #4 as some of the things I’m decluttering are nice clothes that just no longer fit or serve me, but still have lots of wear left in them. Check out my review of Poshmark here. If you’re interested in Poshmark, use my code asposhadventure to sign up and get a $10 credit.
In January, I sold 36 listings!
In February, I sold 17 listings!
In March, I sold 16 listings! (This doesn’t include a Depop sale or an eBay sale)
In April, I sold 17 listings!
In May, I sold 14 listings! (This doesn’t include an eBay sale)
In June, I sold 6 listings – definitely experiencing summer slowdown. This doesn’t include 2 eBay sales (Yay for selling old textbooks!)
In July, I sold 12 listings! (This doesn’t include a Depop sale).
In August, I sold 6 listings! (This doesn’t include 2 eBay textbook sales!)
In September, I sold 10 listings!
In October, I sold 9 listings!
Total Listings Sold: 143 listings! YAY! I can cross this goal off my list!
Let’s achieve our goals and I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 2022!
Sincerely,
A
