Mom’s Easy Pasta Bake

Dear Adventure Avenue,

One of my goals for the year is to write down and post some family recipes. These recipes are foods that are staples in my family. This pasta bake is a super easy to put together and throw in the oven! It’s a one-pan only!

Ingredients

  • 1 box of pasta
  • 16-ounce container of cottage cheese
  • 8-ounce bag of shredded mozzarella cheese (about 1.5 cups shredded cheese)
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 jar of pasta sauce (I used Rao’s)
  • Water (save the pasta jar to measure the water!)

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Dump box of pasta in casserole dish (about a 13inx9in)
  3. Dump Cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese into the pan and mix together
  4. Shred and sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top and mix again
  5. Dump the pasta sauce in and mix
  6. Fill the pasta sauce jar about 3/4th of the way full and dump into the pan. (I shook the jar to make sure to get all the loose sauce out of the jar).
  7. Mix everything together and make sure the pasta is all underneath the water. (If it isn’t, smooth out so it is, or add a tad more water).
  8. Bake covered with foil for an hour.
  9. After an hour, remove foil and check it. If it still looks soupy, cook at 5 minute intervals until the cheese is just starting to brown and most of the liquid is gone.
