Dear Adventure Avenue,
My mom and I discovered that the places in Oak Glen, California we usually go apple picking in the fall were open for business despite the COVID-19. So wanting fresh air, apple flavored pastries, and barbecue, we grabbed our masks and headed to Oak Glen.
Our first stop was Snowline Orchard to get some delicious apple cider doughnuts. They have cinnimon and sugar on them and are made fresh right in front of you, so when you get your bag they are still warm!
They also have a little general store with goodies to buy.
After we got our doughnuts, we walked around the grounds and took some pictures.
Then we headed further up to Los Rios Rancho to go to the Country Store and get barbecue for lunch.
Before we ordered our barbecue, we went in the store to check out the jams and pastries.
We got a peach preserve and a peach jalapeno jam. Then we found a dried corn of the cob for making popcorn with, so we got that to try as well. We also got a big glass jug of apple cider and an apple crisp.
Unfortunately the trails were closed so instead of going on a little hike, we ordered our to-go barbecue. My mom and I got pulled pork sandwiches and a tri-tip sandwich for my dad. (They were delicious!)
After we got our barbecue, we headed home. It was a beautiful day and so nice to get some fresh air!
Until next time,
A
