Day 4 May 12, 2026
Ever since I was little, I have wanted to go to Missouri. I know that may seem a bit odd, but I am a HUGE Little House on the Prairie fan, and Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the books in her home in Mansfield, Missouri, just an hour outside Springfield, Missouri. This trip is making little me soooo happy!
Dear Adventure Avenue,
For breakfast today, I had French toast and an omelet. My dad had a pancake and an omelet. The hotel breakfast really was GREAT!

Springfield Conservation Nature Center
After breakfast, we headed to the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, located about 20 minutes from our hotel. We first popped into the visitor’s center to check out the little exhibits they had there and talked to the rangers there. They gave us a map of the trails that we could go on, and we decided to do the loop that went all the way around the park, a combination of a couple trails.

The nature inside was breathtaking. There were tons of trees in the beginning of the hike, a stream to walk alongside, and even a lake! We spotted some deer while we were walking as well!

After our little hike, we used the onsite restroom (very public park like) and returned back to our hotel.
I had luckily asked for a late check out, so we were able to come back to the hotel and shower. Unfortunately, I did discover a tick on me, so I would definitely recommend bug spray if you visit here.
Culver’s for Lunch
We weren’t particularly hungry for a big sit down meal, but we also did not want to pay airport prices for food, so we decided to go to Culver’s for a quick lunch. I downloaded the Culver’s app and used that to get us 25% off our food, since it was the first time I’d used the app.

After eating lunch at Culver’s, we headed to the airport, dropping off the car at the rental car place. We ended up being super early for our flight, which was fine because we had done everything we’d wanted to do in Missouri!
Until next time,
A
