I love books! When I’m traveling in Maui, I always have to stop by one of my favorite used bookstores there. With that said, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I have a favorite used book store in Southern California.
My favorite used bookstore in Southern California is the Bookman!
Bookman
Located in Orange, California, this used bookstore is wonderful! I have been going here for years. (They recently switched locations but it’s the same people running it). It is a good sized store with tons of books to choose from!
Customer Experience
The staff is always very helpful and nice! My brother was looking for a couple specific books that he couldn’t find on his own, but we asked at the register, and they were able to help us find the books!
Trade in
They usually offer a trade in program where you can bring in a bag (or two) of books you don’t want anymore. You can apply the credit to half of your order. It makes for a pretty good deal!
The Book Selection
I have found many Little House on the Prairie books and Nancy Drew books here that have made my collections grow.
There is a huge mystery and fiction book section. There is a kid’s section, a young adult’s section (think Harry Potter and Divergent), and what I’ll call the pre teen section (smaller chapter books like Hatchet). There are also more niche sections like photography and business for example.
On this particular trip, I found two Star Wars books, Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park, and a Little House on the Prairie book that I didn’t have.
The next time you’re around Orange, California, plan a stop at The Bookman!
