Throwback Thursday: Boston 2018 Day 1

This will be part of a Throwback Thursday series from when my family and I went to Boston and Salem between June 27 2018 and July 3 2018. As it is a trip from before I created my blog, there will most likely be less pictures than usual on some days. Nevertheless, I think Boston and Salem are both places full of adventures, and I’d like to share mine with you. Enjoy! 🙂

Day 1 June 27, 2018

Dear Adventure Avenue,

My family and I flew out of LAX on American Airlines. In the terminal we ate at the French place which I believe is called La Provence. The ham and cheese croissants were good, but the egg and bacon baguette was pretty gross.

The airplane had many movies, T.V. shows, and games to play on the back of the seat. The movies on the back of the seat were pretty recent. For example, Black Panther was on it.

Once in the Boston airport we headed to take an uber to our hotel (Residence Inn Marriott Fenway), but the wait was going to be 30 minutes. We decided to take a taxi instead because there was no wait. (We think the price was going to be the same for each).

Near the hotel was a Wahlburgers which was really good. I had the “Our” burger with some of their delicious onion rings. (Note: The onion rings tasted good on the burger.) Even though they were delicious, the price was a bit on the high side for a burger.

One of the great things about the hotel was that there’s a big Target right down the street. We walked down the street to get a case of water from the Target. It was so humid that we definitely needed that water.

After eating, we walked to the Fenway Garden Society. According to google it is a “literal WWII victory garden from 1942 is now made up of 7.5 acres of produce and flowers.” There were all different types of gardens with little rows in between the plots to walk through. I think this is a great idea, and I wish my own community would do something like this.

There were also some geese and geese babies.

After the park we walked back towards the hotel and stopped at a bakery named Tatte. I had a chocolate coconut cloud which was not my favorite because I found it a little on the dry side and too sweet for my liking. My family also got a chocolate cookie sandwich with icing in the middle which was also very dry, and a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie which was okay- not spectacular but better than the other two desserts.

I ended the night by using the pool on the roof of the hotel. It’s only four feet deep and very small. There is also an outdoor area where guests can go and take in the city lights.

Signing off, until tomorrow,

A

From Boston
