Throwback Thursday: Fort Lauderdale 2015 Day 1

This is part of a series of trips or destination that I have been to in the past. One of the main reasons why I started this blog was because I started keeping a travel journal, so I have many stories and places saved written down. I have visited both fun and interesting places that I really want to share so here goes…

Some of my travel “journals”
This is where I keep all the memories I wrote down during my trips.

Day 1

Dear Adventure Avenue,

My vacation to Fort Lauderdale, Florida began at 4:40 in the morning. My grand-mere and I  got to the airport and went through security. I had no problems, but she had to be patted down. This first leg of this trip is just Grand-mere and me.

One of the perks to travelling with Grand-mere is that we get access to the American Airlines Admirals club. I had a yogurt, mini blueberry muffin, and a small piece of banana poppy seed bread. Grand-mere had an ice tea.

We were the first ones on the plane departing to MIA (privileges of first class and another perk of travelling with Grand-mere).

The in air food was good. I had waffles with caramel and two pieces of sausage. Grand-mere had the cheese omelet. Later in flight I had a chocolate chip cookie and split a cheese plate with Grand-mere.

We were about to land…

The wheels were just about to grace the ground…

When the pilot suddenly pulled the plane back up!

We circled around the airport for THIRTY MINUTES! The pilot said that someone decided to take their sweet time on the runway.

We finally landed and then we had to wait another THIRTY MINUTES for someone to get out of our plane’s parking spot at the gate.

Alas, we finally got off and headed to baggage claim, and got grand-mere’s suitcase from baggage claim fast. (I almost always only use a carry-ons).

By this time, it was 5pm rush hour (I assume), so the cab ride was long. 100 dollars and two hours later we were at our hotel: The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.

Signing off, until tomorrow,

A
