Dear Adventure Avenue,
It was the Fourth of July and time for us to say Aloha to Oahu as we packed our bags and prepared to depart the island.
There was some sort of protest at the airport that made it so the rental car shuttle had to drive all around the airport just to drop us off at our terminal. Luckily, we got there early!
The Hawaiian Airlines terminal had a lot of food options open (compared to the others we had heard about). We ended up with Burger King burgers and some Starbucks drinks.
Fourth of July Fireworks
The most exciting part of the day was when we were landing at LAX. It was 11pm on the Fourth of July. The sky was alive. We saw the clouds light up from the fireworks below. As we descended, we got a better view of the fireworks all around us.
We landed and waited a spell for Spirit airlines to get out of our gate (Hawaiian made sure to tell us which airline was preventing us from getting to our gate :))
It was a good trip, but good to be home and see our sweet dog, Cassie.
