Dear Adventure Avenue,
So this is the crazy story I talked about last week. And I can’t make this stuff up. Seriously. This happened.
We were leaving the Embassy Suites on our last morning in Boston to take the shuttle to the airport. We had an early flight out, so we had to get up super early.
We were the first people to come down and wait for the shuttle. By the time the shuttle came, there were a lot of people waiting to take it. The bus is promptly loaded up, and we are about to leave when this middle aged guy with his elderly wheelchair bound mother tries to get in.
The bus is full! There is no way a wheelchair can fit!
Our bus driver told the guy that he and his mother would have to catch the next shuttle. Needless to say, the guy did not like that.
He starts getting angry that he’s not allowed on. He curses and yells at the driver saying they had made a deal the prior night and says that he was one of the first people down (which we know is not true). He and his mother were one of the last people to arrive.
Then he throws his bag onto the bus! The driver was not going to take that and throws the bag out!
The driver tells that he’ll call another shuttle for him. The guy is still not satisfied and claims his flight leaves in 30 minutes, so he takes his wheelchair bound mother and as we are backing the van out he parks his mother behind the bus!
We yell at the bus driver, “STOP! STOP! You’re going to hit…”
We now can’t leave because there is an elderly lady in a wheelchair behind our bus shuttle. If we try to leave, we’d hit her!
My mom, then very upset, goes outside the bus and tells the man, “I was out here for 20 minutes and you’re going to leave your mother behind the bus so that I can’t leave to catch my flight.”
Then the guy fetches his mother out of her wheel chair and leads her over by the door of the bus.
My mom and two other upset passengers (who went out to make sure this guy did not get on or cause us any more delays) got on the bus. It looked like we were finally going to be able to leave!
But then the elderly woman stuck her cane into the door! The driver quickly dislodged the cane out of the door as he told them he was calling for another shuttle to take them. Then he hit the gas and we were out of there!
Miraculously, despite all the excitement, we were able to get to the airport with plenty of time to spare.
The End,
A
