Throwback Thursday: Boston/Salem 2018 Day 5

This will be part of a Throwback Thursday series from when my family and I went to Boston and Salem between June 27, 2018 and July 3, 2018. As it is a trip from before I created my blog, there will most likely be less pictures than usual on some days. Nevertheless, I think Boston and Salem are both places full of adventures, and I’d like to share mine with you. Enjoy! 🙂

Day 5 July 1, 2018

Dear Adventure Avenue,

After a quick breakfast at our hotel (Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Back Bay/Fenway) lobby buffet, we packed up our things and took a $50 Uber ride to Salem, Massachusetts.

Salem, Massachusetts

We arrived at our hotel, Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites, but our room wasn’t quite ready yet, so we went to the Visitor’s Center.

At the Visitor’s Center, we got tickets to a witch trials movie and tickets for the Myths and Misconceptions Walking Tour.

Before the tour and movie, we went to lunch at Essex’s N.Y. Pizza and Deli. We all split a half pepperoni and half pineapple pizza. Oh my goodness! The pizza, the cheese, it was all so good!!!

After pizza we went and watched the 30(ish) minute movie which was pretty good. (The AC was also very nice!)

Then we went on our tour with our tour guide, Sam. She told us about the different people who were accused and then lost their lives because of the trials.

Also we learned that the Salem we’re in is not the same Salem it was years ago. Now Salem is much smaller and doesn’t include the villager’s section.

After that tour we went back to our hotel and got our hotel room. The room is really big with lots of bathroom amenities! There are two spacious rooms plus a big bathroom!

We cooled off in the room before going to dinner at Finz. (It’s super close to our hotel). I had the lobster mac and cheese which was delicious! My dad enjoyed his rainbow trout and my mom had clam chowder. We also got fried calamari for the table.

After dinner we went out for ice cream. On the way there we watched a street magician. My dad, brother, and I enjoyed it. My mom on the other hand saw how he did a lot of the tricks.

Once we were at Melt, the ice cream shop, we ordered our ice cream. I got minty blueberry because it was different and sounded tasty- and I was right! I enjoyed my scoop of ice cream. My dad got two flavors: coffee and peanut butter. My brother got chocolate, and my mom enjoyed her mint chip.

We headed back to the hotel and called it a night.

Signing off,

A

From Salem
